How much of what?

Studies cited here

Body weight, event risk and symptoms: the quantities behind the percentages matter as much as the size of the figures.

Direct comparisons

SURPASS-2 supplies the opening comparison in adults with type 2 diabetes. SURMOUNT-5 supplies the tirzepatide-versus-semaglutide obesity weight-loss comparison examined on the direct-contest page. I’d read those shared-trial comparisons alongside results with other opponents or outcomes.

Placebo-controlled weight trials

STEP 1 supplies the weight-loss comparison at 68 weeks. STEP 5 adds the sustained result over 104 weeks. These are separate placebo-controlled trials.

Outcome trials

SELECT and FLOW anchor the cardiovascular and renal discussion. STEP-HFpEF examines heart-failure-related symptoms and physical limitations. The populations and outcomes deserve attention alongside each result.

Adverse findings

SUSTAIN-6 puts the cardiovascular benefit and diabetic-retinopathy complication result in the same trial. The semaglutide safety review broadens the discussion to gastrointestinal effects, biliary disease and less settled cancer signals.
